Newcomer Spotlight:
Joseph Chatindo

Joseph Madzudzo Chatindo, born and raised in Zimbabwe’s capital city of Harare has been a resident of the beautiful community of Whycocomagh since moving to Canada in 2016. Joseph works with L’Arche Cape Breton as a House Assistant. Since beginning with L’Arche, Joseph has seen a lot of personal growth in himself. The gift of sharing life among a diverse community such as L’Arche has been truly inspiring to him, having changed his overall perspective on life. Not to mention, L’Arche is where he met his better half, his wife.

In his free time, Joseph can be found exploring the great outdoors across Cape Breton Island. While he already is a big fan of Cape Breton’s beaches (his favourite being Inverness Beach) hiking trails and the island’s natural beauty, the Winter season is still growing on him.

Joseph believes that Cape Breton is blessed by so many cultures and traditions, many of which take place year round, such as live music, and kitchen parties,

Joseph is a dedicated member of the Cape Breton Local Immigration Partnership (CBLIP) Immigrant Advisory Table, and sees it as a way of giving back to a community that has given him so much.
